Black & Decker – Vacuum Cleaner

Posted by singhmadhurie on September 17, 2009

I have two toddlers.

There are days when both are down with cold cough and make me mad with series of vomits, spilling and throwing food all around. I would take half an hour to clean the slimy vomit when the next bout was already done in the next room!!!!

I sat up one night and gave a search on google… tips clean vomit ease fast quick.

And loo there came the boon of my life. :)

Black and decker rechargeable cordless handy vomit sucking vacuum cleaner.

I immediately placed an order on Amazon.com for Black & Decker DB425 DustBuster Deluxe Cordless Wet Dry Vac . That was the last when I saw myself cursing and cleaning. I now sometime wait to show off my friends that how in seconds I am a happy mom with clean and dry vomit and spill proof home.
vaccum cleaner

I payed $28 for the whole set. You have to buy an adapter too as it needs voltage conversion. By the way if you want to buy it from amazon.com, make sure you buy it on a friday sale day.

I love it, and trust me you too will never regret buying this Vacuum Cleaner. :)

Be careful when you the place order, it should be mentioned clearly that it suck liquids too.

I love it.

DUMB DUMB DUMB – Indica Car Advertisement

Posted by singhmadhurie on September 17, 2009

AS I ran to watch the commercial, I split into laughter as my 2.9 and 1.4 year old sons who were fighting for the same car , were still holding eachother but were glued to the tv screen. The Indica dumb dumb dumb ad had even these two kids into its melodious magical fold. The commercial for the Xeta, done by FCB Ulka, the first shot is of four girls , attractive girls in an Indica Xeta. They r on their way to a picnic, “It’s the right kind of day to soak up the sun. To get out there and have some fun!” Thsi is the song they all are singing line by line. As they move on, they see a hunk standing by.
The girls pull over and and start giving him looks and suggestive body movements. They ask the guy suggestively if he knows any man who can rub suntan lotion. The dumbo looks at them blankly , and, after thinking for a while, points in a direction and says, “Maybe you should try the beach café.” The four girls dont believe their ears and shout, “Dumb!” and speed away in their car,. The next shot shows the dumbo staring them still wondering what was wrong ! The voiceover says, “Fortunately, life gives you a second chance. So, here’s the new Indica Xeta.” The voice over again mentions the three benefits of the car (an average mileage of 14 kilometres per litre , a seventy PS power and price Rs 2.78 lakh). The voiceover concludes, “If you still don’t get it…” after which the girls appear next to the car and complete the line, “…you gotta be dumb!” The Voice Over adds, “Got it?” Its one of my favourite advertisements and I don,t remember if even for a second , I have wanted to look anywhere else while its on. The picturesque scenary is breathtaking. It always gives me that open, peaceful and fresh feeling while watching it. The models in the ad are a pleasure to watch. All four models ( females) have absolutely unique style and very expressive way of saying those few words. Watch them carefully next time and u will see what I mean. Every model has done more than justice to the ad not only in their way of talking but even their eyes talk. The whole body language is amazing. Not to forget the dumbo there. He has left no leaf unturn to prove that he is dumb! HAHAHAH I am still laughing as my sons are again glued to the screen !!! Although this ad does seem to be INSPIRED by the movie Dumb and Dumber, but who cares as it long as done beautifully and gets it message across its viewers. “It’s the right kind of day to soak up the sun. To get out there and have some fun!” If u read my review and soak up the fun, do get out there and let few comments done!!!

Givenchy Pi – Heaven In Bottle!

Posted by singhmadhurie on September 17, 2009

I was trying to look for any review on pepper spray, for my self defence workshop , when my search found me looking into this lovely bottle.
Its a beauty to look at. The trapezium front and triangular shaped bottle has a golden tinge and looks very appealing. Befits a kings’ closet. There is a beautiful embossing also on the bottle glass, which is great to feel. I collect unusal bottles, so may be I get carried away with the bottles more than the content.
givenchy pi

But guys this was my hubby’s birthday gift. So I had to be careful and not give in to my interest.
You know there is a secret to making men fall in love. Hmm secret of the most important part of human beings being divulged free of cost! Bahut naainsaafi hai!

No problem, I will try to be content by believing that I have given the society another valuable gift of my knowledge.

All u babes, remember one very simple but important fact about men. All men ( exceptions barred) consciously or subconsciously are looking for their mothers in their girlfriends and wives! So the old saying that the easiest way to man’s heart is thru his tummy, is absolutely correct. But what has that to do with the PI bottle.

Simple darlings! This EDT has the same aroma that most loved food have. The cakes, buiscuits and most sweet baked goodies have VANILLA essence in them. Its the same aroma that tingles and reminds men of their mom, that is stuffed in this heavenly bottle.

Vanilla is one of the most sought after fragrance by men and women. PI EDT from Givanchy is quite strong. You can spray on the throbbing body parts, like your wrist, bend of ur arms, near ur adams apple and ofcourse on face. Its pretty longlasing too. SO try not to spray on your clothes, as it will takes 2-3 good washes to get the smell off. That is also an advantage for people who like to hang their clothes back after one wear. No harm at all. But remember to use only PI when you wear the same suit.

It seemed expensive when I had bought this a few years back, $120 Australian which is around Rs 3500/- for a bottle of 100ml. But trust me it last loooonnnnnnngggggggggggggggggg.

Another secret. I use it too, its soooooooooooooooooooo enchanting and addictive!

Try it, and see the difference.

AMWAY MLM – Merchants of Deception

Posted by singhmadhurie on September 10, 2009

I am glad I did not give in to the pressure tactics to join the MLM called AMWAY.

AMWAY is a well known MLM, who refuses to call themselves MLM i.e. multi level marketing.

I do not think I can ever explain the goose bumps I got when I by chance stumbled upon a link called “Merchants Of Deception”. I thanks my stars and my then recent happenings which warned me. My intutions told me to stay away and I trusted it to be saved from a situation that many are struggeling to come out of.

The way to know about this AMWAY scam is by reading the book written by an AMWAY person himself.

Great Punjab – Love at first bite !

Posted by singhmadhurie on September 10, 2009

From the moment I landed myself on the plush seat of the swanky big black beauty , I knew I will have to own it !  The voguish four wheel drive has given me such a high that no amount of sparkling wine or any count of   tequila shots can transcend its effect or even come close to it !   Back to the reality, that snobbish Montero became part of my friends elite fleet !  I was honored to test drive and give it a thumbs up before we set out to have a gala treat at Great Punjab!   by btw darlings , Montero will have to wait for its review until I own it ! ……………….   Well the review is about this lovely restaurant at Koregaon Park , Pune!

When it comes to eating out, my first few thoughts do a quick mental evaluation of the restaurant versus my kids! ..   Simple to silly things all have to be considered…like…enough space for them to prance around….no visibly dangerous sharp nooks and corners….no growsy looking waiters….proximity to my home…Great Punjab did well on all the above grounds and went a step ahead by setting itself as a benchmark for all future gastronomic ventures of Singh family !

great punjab

Ok waiting out side is not a very happening idea when you are all decked up, so best is to book in advance… though we had to wait for around 15 minutes at the corridor which is again sufficiently decorated and   cushioned!   We were 5 adults and 6 kids in total !  The manager, Pavan Jyot SIngh Gandhi (quite a handsome dude…) alloted a set of long corner tables!  We are a boisterous lot of bindaas souls and would laugh loud enough to deafen   any one’s music! ..music there was a soft ghazal number ….which was soon overpowered by our crooning glories !

The seats are a little low especially the fixed sofas , but are a good safe place for kids to be seated or standing or even jumping to the point of my embarrassment !

There is a typical ethnic idea delivered in the most chic   and modern style. SO as I was trying to read the names on the painting , which happen to be in tiny to medium , acrylic on canvas…I was thrilled to find the name “Pravas”. He is my good friend who can create beauty out   of any junk ! He did a great job with Great Punjab!

There is smoking and non smoking areas demarcated by a very interesting partition!  There is also a mezzanine level in case one wants to throw a small private party for Rs   450/- per head.   The waiters were friendly and trained !  My kids were busy with them, and that was quite a bliss!

We ordered “Reshmi Kabab (Rs 180/-) , Hariyali chicken Kebab (Rs 180/-)  for the starters! Thankfully we had asked for two of  entrees, as the number of peices is quite less!   My kiddos,  relished on  non spicy reshmi kebab without any fuss ! (fuss is only wrt eating ….the jumping on the sofa, the dropping of spoons and forks on the floor, the craft class with the napkins , the   snatching of stirrers, the spilling of juices,  the unabashed poem singing competition….are many others that we have to bear with always….hence not to blame Gr8 Punjab for this at all)!    We had great time sipping on very presentable cocktails and mocktails from Tequila Sunrise 300, to Zingy Margarita (RS 300/-) to Bloody Mary (RS 210/-) to the silent Pinnacolada (Rs300/-)!

My son always has to touch the plates and approve of its warmth,  before we can proceed to be served! So after having crossed that hurdle, we started with the main course….   Punjab and No Butter chicken …bahut naainsaafi hai… but thankfully they have termed it as “Chicken Makkhanwala”  (Rs190/-) !  Its was after a good long time that I had tasted authentic butter chicken, but “Kaake Daa   Dhaaba” at CP in Delhi is yet to be beaten!    Mutton Kaalimiri (Rs200/-) with its rich white gravy was soooooooooooo juicy and soft ….I am again in trance ….with each bite ….. ummmmmmm ….   Chicken Peshawari (Rs190/-) was the only dish which was spicy as per our choice…its dark rick red gravy….heavenly aroma… again I m lost…   Butter garlic nan , tawa roti, lachca paratha were disappearing no sooner they flew from chef’s tandoor on to our plates…! My kids who seem to be hardcore followers of Atkin’s diet, were eating butter nan dipped in   chicken makkhanwala !  A mother’s dream come true ! ( !……..from that hours of running around, coaxing , screaming….this was a bliss …!).

A restaurant is all that its head chef is ! The consultant chef for this chain is Ravi Pal Singh Gandhi. The Pune branch started dishing out  food in 2003, but he first branch was started in 1981at Bandra, Mumbai by Harpal Singh Gandhi ! See the web site http://www.thegreatpunjab.com/ for more information !
Valet parking , which is a plus point and a must in Koregaon park is thankfully at your service!   The contact details The Great Punjab, 5, Jewel Towers, Lane No. 5, Off North Main Road, Koregaon Park, Pune- 411 001, Phone: 26145060/30932023.  2003 /21 /oct  Timing 12:00pm – 3:00pm     and    7:00pm  – 11:00 pm

Thanks Great Punjab for serving puneites one of the most authentic, mouth-watering,
love at first bite food !
